PLANS for the Towcester Museum have moved a step forward after supporters received a donation from Waitrose’s Community Matters scheme.

The Friends of Towcester Museum was awarded £361 by the supermarket’s Towcester branch after taking part in the charity scheme last month and now members are hoping to use the money to buy display cabinets for the new museum.

Chairman of the Museum Trust, David Nunn, said: “We want to say thank you to Waitrose, the Friends of Towcester Museum and to everyone who dropped their green tokens into our box throughout February. We plan to open the Museum to the public early next year and this extra money will help towards making that happen.”
